Research Background

To avoids history repeating itself, if we don't learn from it, this proposed research outlines historical lessons learnt from the nuclear power industry and the nuclear fuel cycle for electricity production in order to empower selected members of NGO's representing 50 community leaders from different walks of life on nuclear energy socio-economic and environmental hazards versus renewable energies as energies of peace. The Sun, Geothermal and Wind are clean, available almost everywhere and sustainable powers that people don't have to fight over in a way similar to the war in Iraq which was fiercely fought over oil and gas reserves.

The research extending over ten months will involve producing a draft of at least 50 pages outlining balanced argument and counter-argument over controversial issues in the on-going debate over different energy sources (Nuclear versus Renewables) in relation to socio-economic feasibility, safety, sustainability, social justice and environmental degradation amidst a warming globe.
